Set up Course Reserves

Put Items on Course Reserves

Course Reserves allow for the short term loan (2 hours, 1 day, or 3 days) of either library-owned or personal copies of materials. We can also provide links to ebooks, articles, and, under certain circumstances, scans of print materials.

Print Materials

  • Option 1: Submit the Hard Copy Reserves Request Form.
  • Option 2: For faster service, print the form and bring it and the item you wish to place on Reserve to the service desk at the library where you want the item to be available. Paper copies of the form are also available at each library.
  • Complete one form for each title you wish to have on Reserve.
  • We encourage you to put personal or departmental copies on Reserve. These will be returned at the end of the semester.

Deadlines: We encouraged you to notify us as soon as you decide to put items on Reserve. Requests submitted 3 weeks before the start of classes will be ready on the first day of class. Items submitted after that will be processed in the order they are received.

Scans & Electronic Access

Permalinks are found in the right sidebar of item records in the library catalog. We can assist in locating available permalinks to e-books, articles and other streaming media you can link to from within Canvas. If we own a hard copy of the item, and the portion you need is in compliance with fair use, we have free flatbed scanners you can use to create a PDF to upload within Canvas. You can also submit a request form for scanning assistance. Please use this form to request scans or links.
