The University Libraries has well over three million items in its collections, and hundreds of millions more available through our online subscriptions. If you need something we don't have, we may be able to get it for you via InterLibrary Loan.


Borrowing Items

UNM students, faculty and staff can come into the libraries to borrow items, or place requests through the Request It button in the catalog. 

Community borrowers can request items using this request form. You can apply for a community borrower's card here. Details, including fees, are available in our Community Borrowers Policy

Returning Items

You can return all library books, including InterLibrary Loan materials, via the book returns located at the following central campus locations:

  • Parish Memorial Library Services Building book return, accessible for drive up returns on Las Lomas (next to the Anderson School of Management)
  • Zimmerman Library north and south entrance book returns.
  • Centennial Science & Engineering Library book return.
