The University Libraries Center for Southwest Research & Special Collections is a repository for diverse collections of original materials relating to New Mexico, the southwestern United States, Mexico, and Latin America as well as rare materials from around the world.

Improving Library Spaces
Funds donated will be used to provide the equipment and space improvements needed to satisfy the changing needs of our students.

Indigenous Nations Library Program
INLP is an open library space that will bring together a unique combination of wireless technology, cutting-edge computer systems, academic software, and specialized Native American databases to support our Native students.

Zimmerman Library Historic Preservation Fund
The Zimmerman Library Historic Preservation Fund will enable UNM to protect and maintain this iconic structure and the services, knowledge and sense of place it represents.

William J. Parish Memorial Library Endowment
The endowment funds the acquisition of academic materials, and equipment for Parish Memorial Library.

Fine Arts Library Fund
This fund supports the acquisition of collections and materials for the Fine Arts & Design Library.

Centennial Science & Engineering Library Fund
This fund supports the acquisition of collections and materials for Centennial Library.

Collection Funds

The Tony Hillerman Collection Fund
The Tony Hillerman Portal presents digital versions of his manuscripts, screenplays and correspondence and is available to anyone interested in Hillerman's writing. Funds will help support this ongoing project.

The Howard L. Karno Endowment for Latin American Pictorial Collections
University Libraries has a renowned Latin American collection. An important part of the collections are photographs and other historic and contemporary visual materials. See more at Latin American Collections.


Book Donations

The UNM Libraries gratefully accepts gifts and contributions for the development of their collections. Gifts are considered with the same criteria as new acquisitions in terms of quality and relevance to the needs of UNM.

All donations must be pre-approved by the UNM Libraries Director of Collections. Book donations dropped off without pre-approval will not be considered and will be discarded.

In general, we do not add duplicate materials to the collection, and we do not accept journals or magazines. The Libraries are unable to provide donors with a list or appraisal of their donation.
