Each library has student PC Windows 7 workstations loaded with Office 2010, Matlab, OIV (ArtStor), Endnote Web, and other standard software. Machines in Centennial Library are also loaded with ArcGIS and ChemDraw.
6 Macs are available in the Indigenous Nations Library Program suite on Zimmerman Library's 2nd floor. 3 Macs are available in the Fine Arts & Design Library (FADL). All Macs are loaded with Office and other standard software. One Mac in FADL is a computer music station and is equipped with Sibelius, Finale, Logic Pro, and Adobe Creative Cloud. FADL also has a full 49-key keyboard and sustaining pedal for use with the music software.
For Users with Disabilities
Computers with assistive software are located in at Parish Library and in the Accessibility Resources Room at Zimmerman Library.
Laptops are available for checkout at each of the branch library Service Desks. Laptops can be checked out for 3 hours at a time and must remain in the building. See details.
A mouse, power cord and Ethernet cable can be checked out with each laptop.
All of the University Libraries have wireless access through Lobo Wifi.
Color and black & white printer/copiers are located in each library. Your LoboCard is loaded with $5 of free printing each semester, or you can purchase a Xerox card. Print/copy costs vary. Download drivers to print wirelessly from your laptop.
There are flatbed scanners in each library. Zimmerman Library, Centennial Library and the Fine Arts & Design Library also have overhead scanners for larger documents. SCANNX Book Scan Centers, located in Parish Library and the Fine Arts & Design Library can be used to scan to Google Docs (requires a Google account) or a USB drive.
The Map and Geographic Information Center in Centennial Library has a large-format scanner/copier/printer for oversize maps, architectural drawings and other documents.
Listen & View Stations
The Fine Arts and Design Library has Listen & View stations for library materials.
The equipment can play LPs & 45s, cassette tapes, VHS, DVDs and Blu Rays. The VCRs can record to VHS tapes. Records and tapes can be transferred to CD.
Kindles are available at Zimmerman Library for 1 day loan. These have a small selection of free books already loaded.
**Borrowers can set the devices to their own account with Amazon to get other content. Devices will be reset to the library account upon return.
